I met Micah through my co-worker aka work bestie, Lauren. Lauren is Micah's bonus mom. Micah is graduating high school an entire year early. And to celebrate her amazing achievement, Micah's parents decided to gift her an on-location, senior portrait shoot with me. This was only my second time meeting Micah and the first meeting was a quick hello in passing when she came into the office to meet up with her mom.
The moment Micah got out of the car when she arrived at Leroy Oaks, it was almost like we had known each other for years. She was the most mature and easy going teen I had ever met. So I can see how her maturity can get her ahead in school.
As we walked the grounds I talked with her a little on what her vision was and if she had any inspiration examples. We got right into poses since it was sunset and we had to capture as much as we could in that golden hour. This girl immediately starts posing in the cutest "model like" poses! I should have known. The teens I see on socials really know their own good angles and have a ton of practice with the selfies and videos they take. Micah was no exception and nailed every shot. The fact that she felt super comfortable made it easy to get a ton of amazing shots. This girl had over 100 shots in her gallery.
Not very many of my clients have been this free flowing and I typically spend a lot of time guiding and showing poses. It's important to me that everyone I photograph can feel like a star when they're in front of my camera. Needless to say, I didn't go home feeling sore from my goofy demonstrations.
Thanks, Micah. And congrats on such an amazing achievement.
